Fire extinguished at Vancouver General Hospital

Vancouver, B.C. – Early this morning, Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) staff and Vancouver Fire and Rescue Service quickly responded to and extinguished a fire in the lobby of the Gordon and Leslie Diamond Health Care Centre at VGH.

As per established emergency response procedures, the facility was evacuated, and Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services is conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire.

There was limited smoke and water damage due to the incident, and the Diamond Health Care Centre will be closed until Monday, December 18, as repairs are made.
