Harm reduction: Toward the Heart 

The Vancouver Integrated Supervision Unit teams a probation officer with mental health professionals from VCH and an outreach worker from the Wataril Counselling and Support Services to provide intensive supervision and support serivces to clients with mental health and substanc use issues serving adult sentences in the commmunity.

How to access

  • Eligibility

    Adults with mental illnesses serving adult sentences in the community.

    Clients benefiting from the additional support of the VISU team may continue ongoing treatment/mental care with their current psychiatrist. There is no need to change psychiatrists to work with the VISU team. 

  • Referrals

    Clients can be referred to the program through their probation officer, primary care provider, mental health team or any community partner, and must have an active community probation order. Contact us to learn more about referral information.
