You will receive both site-specific and regional orientation with supernumerary buddy shifts as needed to support your learning needs.

During your orientation, the Regional Dietitian Educator supports new hires through in-person orientation on core dietetic skills for new grads and new hires across VCH on the following topics:

  • Nutrition Care Practice Resources at VCH
  • Enteral Nutrition

Regional orientation occurs on site either in a group or individual settings. It also includes simulation for the Home Tube Feeding module. In addition, we provide robust Decision Support Tools to help guide your practice and a Dietitians Webpage with access to online tools and resource (eg access to PEN, ASPEN, online journals, etc) to support your learning and practice.

You will have access to a Regional Dietitian Educator to support onboarding, orientation, and continued education. In addition, there are regular continuing education sessions offered for dietitians and an annual dietitian education event.
