The Neuromuscular Disease Unit (NDU) at Vancouver General Hospital provides a range of inpatient and outpatient electrophysiological, diagnostic and consultative services contributing to the accurate diagnosis and care of various neuromuscular diseases for residents of British Columbia.

How to access

  • Check eligibility

    We serve clients with a variety of neuromuscular diseases who are residents of British Columbia. Occasionally patients from outside of BC are seen. 

  • Get a referral

    A referral is required. Have your care provider fax a completed referral form to (604) 875-5867.

How to get here

The Diamond Center is located on Laurel St. between 10th and 12th Ave. Entrances are on Laurel St., Oak St. (next to Shoppers Drug Mart), and 12th Ave. (next to Starbucks). From the main lobby, take the elevators to the 8th floor. Follow the signs to the Neuromuscular Disease Unit / EMG Lab. For office clinic appointments, proceed to the first window (Myasthenia Gravis and Myopathy Clinics sign).

Pay Parking

  • Multi-level parkade at the corner of 12th Ave. and Laurel St, across from the main entrance of the Jim Pattison Pavilion.

  • The Gordon and Leslie Diamond Health Care Centre underground parking lot is located off of Laurel St. between 12th and 10th Ave.

  • Limited street meter parking on Laurel St.

There is a wheelchair-accessible overpass from the VGH parkade at Level 4 and a crosswalk at Level 2.

  • Nearby Bus Routes include 9, 17, and 99 B Line on West Broadway.

  • Canada Line access from Broadway-City Hall station located at West Broadway and Cambie St. (~1km walk or use aforementioned bus routes).
