This program is a clinical service with a research component for Neuromyelitis Optica (NMO) cases. The program is also involved in clinical research concerning the cause and consequences of NMO, raising public awareness, and disseminating information about the disease to the community and health care professionals.

How to access

  • Check eligibility

    We see adults aged 19 years and older. Children and youth may be seen with special arrangements.

  • Get a referral

    You must be referred by your family doctor or a specialist.

We operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

The Emergency Department is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. Visiting hours may vary depending on the unit. Please call the UBC Hospital main line at (604) 822-7121 to determine visiting times before your visit.
