How to access

  • Winning at Losing program

    • The Winning at Losing guide
    • An evaluation for your current food intake
    • One week sample menu
    • Recipes & healthy snack ideas
    • Label reading tools
    • Fat and fibre facts

  • Food Skills for Families

Food Skills for Families is a six-week program that teaches groups how to cook tasty, healthy meals, learn to read food labels and make healthy choices. The program, created by dietitians and educators, is built on Canada’s Food Guide and meets the needs of five groups: Aboriginal, newcomers, Punjabi, low income families and seniors. However, anyone who wants to learn how to prevent or manage diabetes and other chronic diseases, and optimize their family’s health through renewed shopping and cooking skills, is encouraged to join.

To learn more about the program and how to register, visit the Diabetes Canada Food Skills for Families website.

  • Coastal Community Kitchen: Support for foster parents

The Coastal Community Kitchen is held on the second Thursday of each month (subject to change). Join us for delicious snacks and refreshments with fellow foster parents and caregivers. Our chef will guide the group through learning new recipes, and you will take home dinner for your entire family!
