Older Adult Mental Health and Substance Use Services provides specialized community-based mental health and substance use services for older adults.

How to access

  • Check eligibility

    Adults aged 65 and over who:

    • are a resident of Vancouver
    • have a recent new onset of mental illness
    • have medical and/or functional problems related to aging that complicate the treatment of a long-standing mental illness
    • have a progressive dementia with complex behavioural and psychological symptoms
    • have concerns or issues about the use of alcohol, prescribed or over-the-counter medications, tobacco or other drugs and are willing to receive counselling
  • Get a referral

    • Mental health referrals are supported by a physician or nurse practitioner. Substance use referrals can be self-referred.

Parking & transportation

Public transportation is available via buses at Cambie Street and King Edward Avenue as well as the Canada Line. If driving, a loading bay is available at the back of the building for a 15-minute drop off/pick up. There is 2 hour free street parking within the surrounding area.

Nancy Chan Ambulatory Palliative Care Clinic

The Nancy Chan Palliative Care Ambulatory Clinic is an outpatient clinic that provides specialist consultation to patients and families who are living with a severe illness and may be experiencing symptoms and distress which may be affecting their quality of life.
