Richmond Overnight Respite Program at Richmond Lions Manor Bridgeport

The program provides your friend or relative with an opportunity to stay with us while you have a short period of rest and relief so that you can continue to provide good care upon your return

How to access

  • Check eligibility

    • Adults living in Richmond who are currently being cared for at home
    • Caregivers in need of  temporary relief from the demands of caring for a friend of relative
    • Clients assessed by a Richmond Health Services Case Manager
    • Clients who are medically stable

    Note: Caregivers making travel or vacation plans should consider cancellation insurance or have an alternative plan in the event the client’s condition deteriorates or becomes unstable and they are no longer eligible for a respite bed.

  • Get a referral

    For clients new to Overnight Respite, please contact your Richmond Health Services Case Manager.

    For clients who do not have a Case Manager, please call Richmond Central Intake at (604) 675-3644.

     

  • Check in & check out

    Clients generally check in between 10 AM - 4 PM and check out by 10 AM. Times can be flexible to accommodate work commitments and other scheduling needs. 

     

  • Payment process

    Clients pay for their stay upon admission. There may be additional charges for the following:

    • Pharmacy will invoice for medications dispensed during your respite stay.
    • A client trust account pre-authorizing a fixed amount of debit can be set up for hairdressing and podiatry services.

Parking & transportation

Easily accessible by transit, Richmond Lions Manor is located on the southwest corner of Bridgeport Road and Great Canadian Way (just steps away from the Bridgeport Skytrain Station). Guests can access the main entrance from Bridgeport Road and parking is free. Nearby amenities include Costco, River Rock Casino, Foody World, and Richmond Center.

Richmond Lions Manor Bridgeport

Richmond Lions Manor Bridgeport is a 3-storey building formerly a hotel. It was renovated in 2014 and is the temporary home of Richmond Lions Manor, which was initially located in Steveston.
