Building amenities
Willingdon Creek Village consists of six 17 bed units. Each unit has its own common areas and outdoor space. We also have a large multipurpose room that can be used for family functions and recreational activities.
Willingdon Creek Village also has 1 unit dedicated to Special Care for the treatment of people who suffer from severe dementia.
Language, culture, religious affiliations
We do not have a religious affiliation. However we are welcome to all denominations and work closely with them to see how we can support the residents in their religious needs and wishes.
Accreditation status
Accreditation is an external peer review process to assess and improve the services health care organizations provide to their residents, based on standards of excellence set by Accreditation Canada or by CARF.
Philosophy of care
We provide a resident centered care approach and do relate to the Eden Philosophy of Care.
Type of accommodation
102 bed Complex Care home with all private rooms with en suite shower.
Cost
Residents pay 80% of their after tax income which covers the cost of food and accommodation. Minimum and maximum rates apply. There may be other costs not included in the resident contribution. Visit our Costs page for more information.
Special recreation opportunities
We offer an active recreation program. And have multiple volunteers coming in to help out with our gardens, play music and all sorts of activities.

WCV is wheelchair accessible and a wheelchair friendly home.

Pet policy
We do not allow personal pets in our home due to a number of reasons. We do however have an active pet visiting program. Multiple animals come in our home and pay visits on a regular basis.
Smoking policy
Willingdon Creek Village is a non smoking care home site. We recommend people to quit smoking before being admitted to our care home.
Safety & security features
Paladin security provides 24/7 on-site security. The care home has also a Wanderguard system in place, which helps us to keep the residents safe from wandering out of the building.
Neighbourhood & community amenities
Willingdon Creek Village is built on the same site as the Powell River Hospital and Evergreen Care Unit. We are close to both the Powell River Recreation Center and the Powell River Mall.
Care home-specific restrictions
Although Willingdon Creek Village has 1 unit that is dedicated to provide care for people who suffer from severe dementia; we cannot provide care for people who as a result of their dementia are unpredictable in their aggressive behavior.
