Pearson Dogwood Redevelopment

The Pearson Dogwood Redevelopment Project will address high-priority health care needs by redeveloping two older long-term care facilities, George Pearson Centre and Dogwood Lodge. It will also bring together several community programs serving South Vancouver to support local residents with a full range of health services and supports.

We are pleased to announce that Surrey-based Lark Projects Ltd. Construction has been awarded the contract for construction of the new Dogwood Lodge long-term care home in South Vancouver. For more information, please see the official announcement on the BC Gov website.

VCH is working closely with the development partner, Onni Group, to create a community that:

  • Is welcoming and accessible for all

  • Offers services and supports for people with complex physical disabilities and other health challenges

  • Provides housing options to maximize independent living in the community

George Pearson Centre Redevelopment

We will replace this outdated facility with homes that enable residents to live as independently as they choose in an inclusive community designed to meet their needs. This includes creating new housing units with supports, integrated into the market residential towers.

Dogwood Complex Residential Care Redevelopment

The current Dogwood Lodge will be replaced with a new residential care home for people with complex needs. The homelike design will be home to 150 residents, including 28 who require special care, and will ensure flexibility of care for people with different health challenges, such as those requiring ventilator/tracheotomy care and those with palliative or end of life needs.

A new Adult Day Program will be located within the new Dogwood Complex Care Residential Care Home and will aim to provide services for up to 25 individuals per day. This specially designed centre enables individuals with dementia, acquired brain injury, and stroke to remain living at home, with access to a range of health services, social stimulation, and therapeutic recreational programs.
