Every Day Counts (EDC) is a free North Shore program that helps patients facing serious illness and their families/friends/caregivers live their best quality of life. Whether you or your family member has recently been diagnosed with a serious, life limiting illness or you are further along on your journey, the Every Day Counts Program can connect you to a community of guidance, wellbeing and support.
What to expect
Guidance
Every Day Counts provides opportunities to learn about every aspect of your journey. Information sessions are provided in general topics related to navigating challenges as well as specific topics related to symptom management, body, mind and emotions, and social and spiritual aspects of quality of life.
Wellbeing
Every Day Counts promotes physical and emotional wellbeing through programs such as Healing Yoga, Relaxation Classes, Meditation, Tai Chi, and much more. Every Day Counts Program also provides information about other community and healthcare resources.
Support
This program offers grief support groups, walking groups, kids care support group, music therapy and other supportive programs. Every Day Counts also provides opportunities for individual, short-term counseling for those in their first year of loss.

You can self-refer to Every Day Counts on the EDC website. No doctor’s referral is required.

How to get here
Driving North on Lonsdale
Turn right at 13th Street and pass Lions Gate Hospital on your left. The Hospice entrance is located on the corner of St. Andrews and 13th on the left.
Driving South on Lonsdale (from the Upper Levels Highway)
Take Exit 18 to Lonsdale Avenue South and proceed to Lonsdale Avenue South. Turn left at 13th Street and pass Lions Gate Hospital on your left. The Hospice entrance is located on the corner of St. Andrews and 13th on the left.
Parking
Parking is available at the rear of the hospice – please visit the nursing station for more information. There is limited free parking on the surrounding streets.
