Pulmonary Function Tests
Pulmonary function tests include a variety of breathing tests to measure how well your lungs work. Spirometry is a common pulmonary function test.
What to expect
During the test, you will breathe into a machine that will measure how much and how fast you can move air in and out of your lungs. Your physician may also ask the health-care professional conducting the test to give you breathing medication during the test.
