What to expect
We have a wide variety of health care providers and services to help you manage and treat the physical and emotional impacts of arthritis.
Managing arthritis is a team effort. There are many different health care providers who may be part of your MPAP team. Who is on your team may change over time and will depend on your needs, the services available where you live, and your personal health beliefs and practices.
The Victoria Arthritis Centre has a variety of healthcare providers who can help you learn how to self-manage and treat arthritis including:
- Physical Therapist (PT)
- Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Registered Nurse
- Social Work Counsellor

Specialty clinics
The Victoria Arthritis Centre also offers the following specialty clinics.
- Pediatric Program – Our multidisciplinary team, including a pediatric rheumatologist, provides treatment, counselling, education, and community follow-up services for families with a child or adolescent with arthritis.
- Vasculitis Clinic – A weekly physician and nursing-led clinic that provides consulting services and patient education for assessing and managing vasculitis.
- Telehealth Clinics: Consultation with a rheumatologist located in Vancouver is available via telehealth for patients with the following diagnoses:
- Lupus
- Myositis
- Pregnancy and rheumatic diseases

Support group
The goal of the support group is to provide a safe space for people living with inflammatory arthritis and SARDs to meet others and receive support for their unique lived experience of their diagnosis. The support group occurs virtually over Zoom.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Current patient of the Mary Pack Arthritis Program
- And with confirmed diagnosis of:
- Inflammatory Arthritis or Systemic Autoimmune Rheumatic Disease (SARD) such as Lupus or Sjogren's

Arthritis classes and education - No referral required
Victoria Arthritis Centre also offers education classes to help you learn about the different kinds of arthritis and management techniques. No referral is required. and you do not need to be a client of other Mary Pack Arthritis Program services to join the classes. Currently, these classes are being provided virtually as a Zoom webinar. Check the class schedule for class descriptions and information on how to register.
Learn about how you can exercise, eat well, manage your pain and modify your activities to allow you to live a healthy and active life, with less pain. Classes are free and are offered both online and in-person.
