Youth health

If you're a teen or young adult, you know that healthy choices aren't always the easiest ones to make. Our job is to help you make good choices so you can succeed. Find youth services below designed to meet your needs. Most services are for people between the ages of 12-24.

Youth clinics

Our youth clinics offer free and confidential drop in services for youth where you can talk to a health care provider about the health topics that are important to you. You do not need a care card and usually you do not have to make an appointment. Youth clinic services may include:

  • Testing for sexually transmitted infections
  • Free condoms and water-based lubricant
  • Emergency contraception
  • Pap tests
  • Free or low-cost birth control options
  • Pregnancy testing and options counselling
  • General counselling
  • Mental health and addictions counselling

Mental health

There are a wide range of mental health services available including assessment, treatment, consultation, therapy and more.

Addiction services

Our free youth addiction services are designed to meet the needs of youth struggling with substance misuse or addiction to drugs or alcohol. They include prevention, counselling, detox and treatment services. Visit our Youth addictions page for more information.


Pregnancy, childbirth and new parenthood bring physical and emotional changes. Knowing what to expect can make these changes easier to handle and enjoy. Learn more about pregnancy services.


We support children and youth who have complex health conditions including diabetes, seizures, g-tubes etc. at home, in schools and in the community. Learn more about the services for children and youth with disabilities.

School health

We publish an annual School Health Manual that provides information for teachers and school staff about the health services available for school-aged children and youth in Vancouver. Learn more about the school health manuals.

Eating disorders

We support children, youth and adults, ages 11 and over, who are struggling with body image, disordered eating and eating disorders.
