Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is responsible for providing health-care services to the people and communities we serve, which include Vancouver, Richmond, the North Shore, Sea to Sky, Sunshine Coast, Powell River, Bella Bella, and Bella Coola. VCH cares for patients referred from other health authorities, provides 46 per cent of all inpatient specialized care for the entire province, and works in partnership with Providence Health Care to deliver care in Vancouver.

      Sechelt | shíshálh Hospital provides general medicine and surgery, obstetrics, palliative care, physiotherapy, pharmacy, diagnostic imaging including a CT scanner, laboratory, inpatient psychiatry, ambulatory care, outpatient chemotherapy, digital mammography, rehabilitation services and community hemodialysis.

    • Lions Gate Hospital

      Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver provides specialty services to Sea-to-Sky, Sunshine Coast and Powell River residents. It is a recognized trauma centre and one of five neurosurgery centres in B.C. The hospital provides full maternity and pediatric services, inpatient psychiatry beds, palliative care and hospice beds, four minimally invasive surgical operating rooms, and one of the most clinically-advanced MRI scanners in Canada.

      qathet General Hospital, Sechelt | shíshálh Hospital, and Lions Gate Hospital have Indigenous Patient Navigators that provide direct patient and family support, including access to Elders, traditional ceremonies, and traditional healing practices, as well as support and education to health-care team members caring for Indigenous patients.

      Operated by the Pender Harbour & District Health Centre Society, this community health centre provides services including: nursing, physician, public and mental health, community and social service programs, as well as other health related disciplines. Community and support groups use the space regularly for their programs.

      Willingdon Creek Village is a long term care home with public beds, which includes special care beds that will provide the safety required for residents who need extra support, and an Adult Day program.

      Operated by the Good Samaritan Society, Christenson Village in Gibsons includes assisted living units, complex care beds and special care beds designated for residents living with dementia.

      Sumac Place is a newly renovated Tertiary Mental Health facility that delivers specialized mental health rehabilitation and residential services for adults that need a more extended, 24-hour supportive care environment.
