Share your stories

I Made a Difference recognizes individuals and teams who make a difference in the lives of our patients, clients, families and colleagues. We invite you to share your stories with us. Sometimes the most impactful submissions are the simple stories that happen every day.

Here are a few of the submissions from the 3 south team at Richmond Hospital;

  • I made a difference today by changing a patient's mood for the better (appeared happier). Patient's surgeon approached me and told me patient's mood was great today!

  • I made a difference by calming down my patient when he felt very agitated in the morning

  • I  made a difference by doing a thorough cleaning on the medication cart to prevent the spread of infection

  • I made a difference by helping each other out as a team

  • I made a difference by smiling at a passing stranger

  • I made a difference by assisting my co-workers who needed help
  • I made a difference by keeping my head down and having a positive attitude when things are stressful
  • I made a difference by helping to answer call bells
  • I made a difference by using YouTube via an IPad to download traditional Cantonese opera for a Cantonese speaking patient to listen thereby reducing social isolation and loneliness

All submissions will be reviewed and considered for one of three free registrations to BC Patient Safety & Quality Council's Quality Forum  in February 2020.  The team with the most submissions will receive a free registration to the Quality Forum and a team celebration!
