Efforts to reduce and discourage tobacco use contribute significantly in promoting the health of British Columbians and reducing healthcare costs. In the past few years, vaping has become popular among youth. There is concern that this will lead to increased rates of nicotine addiction and exposure to harmful chemicals. Vancouver Coastal Health uses a comprehensive strategy to reduce the harms and burden of tobacco and vapour products use and build capacity in communities.
