Learn about the services provided by the Mary Pack Arthritis Program (MPAP) at the Penticton Arthritis Clinic and how to access services. This program, located in Penticton, is operated by Vancouver Coastal Health and is part of the Mary Pack Arthritis Program, which has locations across B.C.

The Penticton Arthritis Clinic provides services to people with:

  • All types of inflammatory arthritis
  • Systemic Autoimmune Rheumatic Disease
  • Complex osteoarthritis

The Penticton Arthritis Clinic has a variety of healthcare providers who can help you learn how to self-manage and treat arthritis including:

  • Physical Therapist (PT)
  • Occupational Therapist (OT)
  • Social Work Counsellor and Registered Nurse services (Not available on site, available via telehealth services by internal referral only)

How to access

  • Check eligibility

    The Mary Pack Arthritis Program in Penticton, B.C. provides services to people with:

    •  
    • All types of inflammatory arthritis.
    • Systemic Autoimmune Rheumatic Disease (SARD)
    • Complex osteoarthritis

    The Mary Pack Arthritis Program in Penticton, B.C. does not provide services for:

    • Most types of soft tissue conditions or mechanical back pain when there is no confirmed diagnosis of arthritis
    • Osteoporosis if it is not related to inflammatory arthritis
    • Chronic pain conditions not related to arthritis, such as fibromyalgia
    • Hypermobility syndrome as a primary diagnosis
    • Post-surgical intervention
    • Patients with open ICBC or WorkSafe BC claims
    • Find alternate services to meet these needs 

    MPAP Arthritis Classes do not require a referral.

  • Get a referral

    MPAP visits are covered by the B.C. Medical Services Plan (MSP). 

    If you are a referring health professional, please complete the  Mary Pack Arthritis Program Penticton Referral Form and fax it to (250) 770-7552.

    The following services at the Penticton Arthritis Clinic require a referral from a Physician or Nurse Practitioner:

    These services are provided by a variety of health-care providers who can help you learn how to self-manage and treat arthritis, including:

  • Wait for a call to book an appointment

    If you have been referred to our program for treatment (such as physiotherapy and occupational therapy) we will contact you to discuss your needs and treatment options. We offer services in-person and using virtual health (e.g., Zoom, FaceTime). 

  • Cancellation policy

    Appointments are in high demand. Please provide us with 24 hours’ notice if you can no longer make your appointment. Two non-attendances (i.e., cancelling with less than 24 hours’ notice) may result in discharge from treatment.

Specialty clinics

Penticton also offers the following specialty clinics.

Paediatric Program – Our multidisciplinary team, including a paediatric rheumatologist, provides treatment, counselling, education, and community follow-up services for families with a child or adolescent with arthritis.

Other specialty medical clinics are available by rheumatologist referral via telehealth services at the Vancouver Mary Pack Arthritis Centre.
