In 1964, the hospital moved from Garden Bay to Sechelt, thanks to the shíshálh Nation’s gift of more centrally located land on the Sunshine Coast. Today, the hospital serves more than 33,000 year-round residents, with the second-largest cohort of seniors in British Columbia.
