Equipment evaluation services provide equipment-related services to clinicians and consumers, including consultation, product testing and investigations. Direct consultation is through an occupational therapist or physiotherapist only.
What to expect
Direct consultation is through an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist only.
General questions only will be addressed directly to the public. E.g. the typical characteristics of a centre-wheel drive chair rather than a recommendation of the most appropriate chair.

Equipment Specialist services
GF Strong Rehab Centre's Equipment Specialist is a resource to clinicians employed within the Rehab Clinical Practice Unit of VCH.
In addition to consulting with staff clinicians the Equipment Specialist provides general information to residents of British Columbia.

Donations
The Equipment Evaluation Service processes gift in kind donations made to GF Strong Rehab Centre. Through the VGH + UBC Hospitals Foundation we are able to issue tax receipts for items such as wheelchairs, ventilators, lifting devices and other devices.

Contact your therapist
Direct consultation is through an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist only. There is no fee for service to clinicians and consumers. Product testing requires a contract between the vendor and the Equipment Evaluation Service.
