North Shore Mental health and Substance Use services provide health care and support to children, youth, adults and older adults struggling with acute, chronic or recurring challenges. Services may be provided at the HOpe Centre, Lions Gate Hospital, in the community or at your home.

Family support on the North Shore

Families are an integral part of the recovery process for individuals with mental health issues. Education, therapy, and resources are available for family members on the North Shore. These are available within the HOpe Centre and the larger community. 

Here are a few suggestions for finding further support and resources in your community.

    • Family Services of the North Shore

      An accredited not-for-profit, community-based agency that offers affordable and sometimes subsidized education, support and counselling services.

    • Mood Disorders Association of BC

      Located at #1450 605 Robson St., Vancouver. Call (604) 873-0103. Option 1 for Psychiatric Clinic and option 2 for the Counselling Office.

    • Canadian Mental Health Association

      Provides mental health promotion and mental illness recovery for people of all ages and their families.

    • Pathways Serious Mental Illness Society

      Offers a monthly support group and a 12-week “family to family” education group. Located at 205-1865 Marine Drive, West Vancouver.

    • Kelty Dennehy Resource Centre

      Located on the main floor of the HOpe Centre offers resources on mental health issues for patients and families.
